Have you ever heard the saying that your mind is only as organized as your cutlery drawer? I used to pride myself in the tidiness of my cutlery drawer - I even went to the extent of organizing the big spoons and little spoons (and big forks/little forks) into separate piles in their appropriate slots. These days, spoons, forks, knives, bath toys, baby eating devices are thrown in the moment I get the opportunity to unload the dishwasher. Ahh how priorities change.

The goal sometimes is to unload the dishwasher at all. Sometimes we just take dishes from it as we need them :)
You should see my mother-in-law's cutlery drawer. All same-sized spoons are nested perfectly in a stack, tipped to the side, 'spooning' one another. I think they may even be polished. I also think it's a sign of neurosis and a boring life. Better to have a drawer like yours, as much as you may feel a out of control at times.
I've never heard of this saying. I just analyzed my cutlery drawer and it is sufficiently chaotic to suggest that I have more important things to worry about than how neat my cutlery drawer is, while not being so chaotic to suggest that I am so absent-minded that I have purchased five can openers in the past year. Hahaha.
ok, so i looked at mine, and the spoon tray looks kind of dirty. Does that mean i have a dirty mind? :-D
